FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about simulators, pricing and setup.
Which simulators does FlightLab support?
DCS World, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and X-Plane 12. Every overlay reads live telemetry from the running simulator, and each simulator has a demo mode so you can set things up without flying.
Is FlightLab free?
Yes. FlightLab has a free tier with the essential overlays. Pro unlocks every overlay, Layouts and the advanced customization options, and during early access Pro is free as well.
Can I try the overlays without a running simulator?
Yes. Demo mode renders every overlay with sample telemetry, so you can pick themes, sizes and positions before you start your simulator.
Which platforms does FlightLab run on?
FlightLab is a Windows desktop application. It runs next to your simulator and draws its overlays on top of it.
Does FlightLab work in VR?
Yes. FlightLab VR brings your overlays into your headset, where you can place, resize and fade each one. The install guide at hangar.flightlab.app shows you how to set it up.
Can I show my Twitch chat while flying?
Yes. The Chat overlay shows your Twitch chat with BTTV emotes, and Chat Highlight pins a single message on screen. Audio Motion, Custom Text and Custom URL round out the streaming toolkit.
Can I display my heart rate?
Yes. The Heart Rate overlay connects to Pulsoid and shows live BPM with history, peak, minimum, average and calories.
How do I connect FlightLab to my simulator?
Open Game Setup in the app. It checks the connection for each simulator and installs what is needed with one click. X-Plane 12 additionally needs its UDP data output enabled in the simulator settings.
Can I open FlightLab from a web link?
Yes. Links to flightlab.app/launch open the installed app directly, which is how sign-in portals and shared links reach it.
